In India, Honda sells under Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India Private Limited (HMSI) which is completely owned subsidiary of Honda Motor Company, Japan. Honda entered into Indian market in 1999 with subsequent launch of scooters, Honda Activa was the first scooter in the line to be launched after which Honda Dio and Eterno were launched in quick succession.
