The new Polo is a very fine example of how to move forward and yet not lose yourself in the crowd. The car has been updated regularly to keep it in contention and improve its desirability.
The Polo now comes with a 1.2 litre petrol motor and 1.5 litre diesel. The 1.2 litre petrol motor pumps 75 PS of power and 110 Nm of torque. It promises a fuel economy of 16.47 km/l. The 1.5 litre diesel engine is a brand new motor developed by VW. It has a peak power output of 90 PS and torque of 230 Nm. It is mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox and ARAI tested mileage is at 20.14 km/l.
The Cross Polo is offered as a 'tougher' looking variant of the standard car and is powered by the same engines.
The Polo GT twins, the GT TSI and GT TDI represent the performance side of the range. Powered by a 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol motor, the GT TSI also features the critically-acclaimed 7-speed dual-clutch transmission from the VW group. It has a maximum power output of 105PS with a maximum troque figure of 175Nm, coupled to the DSG-box the GT TSI is right now the best hot-hatch anyone can buy in the country without breaking the bank. The GT TDI, powered by the 1.5-litre diesel motor developing 105PS/250Nm mated to a 5-speed manual transmission offers a good mix of power, efficiency and handling.
The Interior of the Polo is simple and rich. Quality if very good and the ends are neat and well-sculpted. The feature list is rich and the cabin feels very classy. The voice command feature is very useful. Features like the cooled glovebox also add to the premiumness of the cabin.
The quality of the cabin is best in the segment.

Easily the best looking car in its segment. The VW design is classy and does not grow old at all. The VW logo at the rear also doubles up as boot-latch, it is a unique feature. The car now features ORVM integrated indicators.

VW after-sales are on the steep side especially the workshop costs.
Diesel Polo is quite fuel efficient.
It is difficult to get a good efficiency figure in the GT TSI. Maintenance costs are on the higher side

The Volkswagen Polo, take any variant, has one of the best ride-and-handling characteristics amongst its competition. It is a suspension setup that is pliant enough to smother bad roads, while also being stiff to take croners at blistering speeds. The electronic power steering and the softer suspension do dull the driving charactristics of the GT twins though.

It is an envy of others.VW is donating it's legitimate Market Share to others with inferior products due to limited availability.These days no one has patience.Better Mileage directly relates to the individual's driving Style.The works Manager at Coimbatore demonstrated personaly productive driving stye in terms of potential superior milege upto 22.3 km as well as comfortable stress free driving discipline.I have corrected my driving Style after 25 yrs.They are committed and enjoy Custoemer's success.I am a proud owner of Polo Comfortline since 8-4-2010 .As on date I have driven 4600 kms and learnt due to Polo,fuel efficient driving style,Atleast 4 of my friends bought after my excellent expeience Thanks to VW. Purchased POLO comfortline (D) a month back... look wise and performance wise great.. BUT if you are tallboy you rae out... i am 5.10 height.. not able tocomfortably sit . rear seat is also tight with ess leg room.... high humps on road , then your head will touch the roof..... stylish but not family vehicle... lugggage space is good compared with other cars in the class.

Clutch plates and assembly Kit is very weak and even some defects are still exist.I ran only for 10,000 KM and while went for servicing they said I need to replace clutch es and assembly kit which will coast you 40,000- (Now..i.e. May-5-14.) Even the servicing is very bad, they promise you to takedrive the vehicle for 1 year15000 Km, and then come for servicing, meantime something goes wrong no one will look into it and will say come after 1 year only.

Cons A little noisy cabin in city drive, pickup at low gear underpowered
I bought this nice hatchback 6 months back and I must say I am pretty impressed. This car has lot of power under the hood but it hates city traffic and the cabin can be a bit noisy. On the highways this car is superb. The ride quality, handling and the stability is much better than that of any car in its class. I was tired of seeing those toads in the city (typical Suzuki shapes) and decided to go for German Engineering this time and trust me its worth. Expect mileage of 17-21 in mixed city-highway conditions but you can also get mileage 21-25 KMPL. Its my experience on Mumbai Pune Express way.
