The Rolls-Royce Ghost was made for the younger generation of entrepreneurs and business leaders. It combines the opulence of the Rolls-Royce Phantom and adds elements that would be more appealing to the younger crowd but not detract from what makes a Rolls-Royce a Rolls-Royce. The design becomes less formal, there are hints of performance in the design itself and it looks more discreet. The 2015 Rolls-Royce Ghost Series II is improvement over the car launched in 2009, adding more standard features and featuring new technology which keeps it ahead of the rest.

The Rolls-Royce Ghost combines gracefulness with contemporary design. It looks luxurious yet does not look inaccessible. Though smaller than the Phantom, the Rolls-Royce Ghost Series II has presence in the bucket loads. Stateliness and dynamism combine to provide a unique look. The typical Rolls-Royce grille is present but has been made softer looking, the headlamps feature LED daytime running lamp surrounds and LED indicators add modern styling cues to the car. Meanwhile the long hood, uncluttered side-profile, and simple rear keep the tradition of understated elegance alive. The two-piece paint job with the contrast coloured hood and grille add to the dynamic look of the car. The illuminated 'Spirit of Ecstacy' hood-ornament is standard and can be stowed away with a press of a button if needed.

The side profile is uncluttered, with a single detailed line going all the way from the headlights to the tail-lamps. The Rolls-Royce signature suicide-door arrangement is standard on the Ghost. The profile looks more dynamic thanks to the sharply raked front windshield and the slanting roof-line towards the rear. The alloy wheels with always upright hub-caps look elegant. The rear design continues the theme from the front, with subtle LED tail-lamps and a simple boot, the rectangular dual-exhausts add a bit of sportiness to the design.

The combination of time-tested elegance and modernity continues on the inside of the Ghost Series II. The dashboard has a simple design, but is filled with analogue and digital displays, the instrument cluster has analogue speed, reserve power, engine-temperature and fuel-level display but the centre console is dominated by a multimedia screen. The steering wheel is old-school, but the driver is aided by heads-up display for speed and navigation. A plethora of infotainment devices, communication devices and services are offered as standard.

The Rolls-Royce Ghost Series II is powered by a 6.6-litre twin-turbo V12 petrol engine mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission. Though it is not tuned for aggressive driving, the Ghost is not slouch. It aims to be the ultimate luxury sedan money can buy, and every element in the car makes it so.

The Rolls-Royce Ghost Series II gets a unique blend of classic design cues and modern design themes. The dashboard is upright and features traditional materials like wood mixed with aluminium or other metals. Analogue dials, clock faces mix with digital multimedia displays and heads-up display. The seats are fully adjustable and feature the finest leather and stitching. As always, there are almost an infinite number of ways in which you can personalise the car to suit your tastes.

The Rolls-Royce Ghost Series II has road presence, but is not as imposing as the Phantom. It combines elegance and dynamism to create a unique look that cannot be easily replicated. Simple design is complemented by modern touches all around.

Mileage Running Cost

The Rolls-Royce Ghost Series II a claimed mileage of 7.15 km/l in European test cycle.

Comfort Suspension

The Rolls-Royce Ghost Series II has been designed and produced to be one of the most luxurious and comfortable sedan that money can buy. Interior comfort is enhanced thanks to a smooth and silent engine, smooth transmission and heavy-NVH cancellation. The Ghost Series II features air suspension all around and multi-link front and rear axles. Active roll stabilsation system, variable damping control and a system that compensates for the number of occupants gives the car a floating -carpet like feel.

Engine Performance

The 6.6-litre, twin-turbo V12 petrol engine is powerful but smooth and is economical too. Has enough punch to deal with performance cars in a straight line.

Braking Safety

Though it is not meant to be driven like a sports-car, the Rolls-Royce Ghost Series II can hold its own when driven hard. Don't expect this 2.5-tonne behemoth to handle like a track-day car though.
