The Mercedes-Benz CLA Class fits into the new breed of compact luxury sedan segment. It has to be said that Mercedes-Benz has done a great job of designing the CLA Class sedan from it’s A and B Class derived platform.
The car is ergonomically comfortable for both front and rear occupants with an acceptable amount of cabin space. However, it can be a bit tight for tall passengers. Leaving aside this glitch, the CLA feels like a full blown luxury sedan. Build quality in typical Mercedes fashion is excellent, so is fit and finish, along with good quality of materials inside the cabin.
The dashboard is identical to that of the A-Class hatchback, along with all the instrumentation and switchgear. The CLA Class is a well equipped car and offers plenty of features and gizmos for occupants.
The design language of the CLA Class is what really sets the car apart. With it’s smooth curves and design cues the Mercedes-Benz CLA is a very contemporary looking car that attracts attention where ever it goes. The large chrome grille with the big Mercedes-Benz three pointed star works in lending a classy appeal to the car, something that buyers of the CLA associate with.
The Mercedes-Benz CLA Class is offered with a range of petrol and diesel engines. There is a 2.0 litre petrol engine, a 2.1 litre diesel engine and the high performance 45 AMG version is powered by a 2.0 litre turbo petrol motor that is engineered to produce a noticeably high power output.
It has to be said that Mercedes-Benz has done a great job at styling the CLA-Class. It grabs eyeballs everywhere it goes. The CLA-Class is a complete package for young luxury car buyers looking to buy their first luxury sedan and for those looking for a stylish yet compact luxury car.
The Mercedes-Benz CLA Class has upmarket interiors with use of good quality materials and switchgear. Fit and finish is also good and the cabin feels luxurious. Cabin space is good in the CLA-Class for a compact luxury car, although tall passengers will be a little cramped for space in the rear bench.

The Mercedes-Benz CLA-Class has a very striking exterior design language with plenty of curves and contemporary design cues. Its large front grille with the prominent three pointed star logo that makes a striking statement for the car.
