Overview

 The new Land Rover Range Rover to say its full name is a new take on the best luxury SUV in the world. The Range Rover was an icon and changing it was a big risk, as you can see Land Rover has changed a lot of the design but have kept the original essence. The stance is the same but the headlights, bumpers, grille and tail-lights are changed. The new Range Rover is lightweight with an all-aluminium body which makes it actually less heavy than the huge size suggests.The bigger change lies on the inside which actually rivals a Bentley for luxury and comfort. The important bit is that with 118mm more legroom, the rear compartment offers vastly more space and comfort, with the option of the new two-seat Executive Class seating package for first-class travel. But that is not the end as the Range Rover is a bespoke luxury SUV, it can be extensively tailored with a choice of colours, finishes and special details, from the colour-themed interiors of the Autobiography series, to the range of alloy wheels up to 22 inches in diameter. Other goodies include a high-end audio from British specialists Meridian, soft door close with power latching, power upper and lower tailgates, full digital instrument cluster with central 8-inch touch-screen with Dual-View functionality, massaging seats and I can go on and on. The enhanced rear legroom is important as in markets like ours and China where Land Rover expects a lot of sales, the rear seat is the most important part of the car as this is where most owners will be sitting. Engine wise there is a choice of a petrol 510PS LR-V8 Supercharged and two diesel (3.0-litre 258PS TDV6 and 4.4-litre 339PS SDV8) engines. With all this luxury and comfort you would expect a king size price-tag too and you are right as expected price to start at Rs 1.5 crore to Rs 2 crore for the bespoke petrol V8 models. All petrol and diesel engines in the new Range Rover are paired with the  ZF 8HP70 8-speed automatic gearbox. Also featuring is a next-generation version of Land Rover's Terrain Response system, which analyses the current driving conditions and automatically selects the most suitable vehicle settings. There is a huge amount of technology in the new Range Rover. You have a Two-channel Dynamic Response active lean control, and Adaptive Dynamics with continuously variable damping, Electric Power Assisted Steering, which enables Park Assist, Adaptive Cruise Control.
