The Hyundai Santa Fe is a contemporary looking SUV sporting the Korean car maker’s fluidic design language that gives it plenty of curves and angular design cues that make it stand out of the crowd, something that is worrying its rivals. In fact so crisp is the design language that the Santa Fe will age very well and will not look dated any time soon.

The Hyundai Santa Fe also comes loaded with lots of equipment ranging from daytime running LEDs, xenon headlamps, dual din stereo with steering mounted controls, cruise control, traction control, six airbags, cooled glovebox, leather upholstery, dual zone climate control with vents for all three rows, keyless start/stop and more.

Hyundai’s Santa Fe is powered by a 2.2 litre common rail diesel engine that develops 197PS of power @ 3,800 rpm and 420Nm of torque @ 2,500 rpm in the manual two wheel drive model and 436Nm of torque @ 2,500 rpm in the automatic four-wheel drive model. The engine is fairly responsive throughout the rev band and always has adequate power.

This being a Hyundai, the suspension setup of the Santa Fe is softly sprung and is not the most confidence inspiring around bends. That said, the SUV has positive road manners and is a good highway cruiser while also being comfortable in tight urban confines. The steering has three driving modes, Comfort, Normal and Sport for light response while maneuvering and increased feedback under enthusiastic driving.

Ride comfort is good apart from some vertical movement for rear occupants and cabin noise is well contained which furthers the premium appeal of this SUV.

The dual tone interiors of the Hyundai Santa Fe finished in leather upholstery definetly give this SUV an upmarket appeal. Quality of plastics and detailing inside the cabin is good and the Santa Fe comes loaded with a healthy equipment list.
