He bought the car!

By Rohit sharma for Honda BRV

My colleague recently bought his very own Honda BR-V top end diesel variant. The car is a compact SUV and is the first one from Honda after the longest waiting time ever. It’s not a very good looking car in my opinion. The rear looks boxy and cramped while the sides don’t elongate as they could have at the back edges. But it is within budget and offers the needed features from an SUV.

Its got ample boot space and enough legroom. The interiors are in simple black with silver trims around a few edges. The music system is a bit disappointing for its basic and doesn’t sit well in an SUV that costs over 10lakhs. Further there is no touchscreen, navigation, Apple CarPlay or Android Auto. There are no automatic wipers, automatic headlamps or cruise control. Sad!

These days its offering a mileage of 18kmpl give or take. It handles city traffic normally, doesn’t get jumpy or bouncy on higher speeds. However, the diesel engine doesn’t have good power and torque which is a slight let down. But my colleague is a simple driver, he likes to save his money rather than go bonkers on his car’s power. The passionate me would have liked a powerful car. You get just satisfactory handling from this crossover which is definitely a family car.

Can’t do anything now, he bought it. I wouldn’t.
