Great city runabout and efficient

I was in the market primarily for a luxury hatchback a year ago, checked the Bmw 1-series, Merc A-Class, but felt both were very cramped even by hatchback standards, and honestly none felt special or luxurious. I wasn't an Audi fan, so skipped the A3. But later on, thought will give it a try. Surprisingly, I found it way better in terms of practicality and the interior are a class act. Was confused between the petrol and the diesel, but finally chose the petrol since running is not that high. Great car for weekend drives and daily commutes. Drive is smooth and the engine's performance is adequate. It may not be as enthusiastic to drive as say a BMW, but it does everything else so much better (we have a 3-series as well!)
