In order to instill safe driving habits in the drivers of Tomorrow, Yamaha
conducted a program in Gurgaon on the 30th of August. The programme named Kidz Yamaha Safe Riding Science program was organised for the school children of the city, to teach the kids some valuable tips and tricks for a safer ride and basic road rules.
Yamaha Safe Riding Science Programme - Theory Session
The event included 100 enthusiastic students aged between 8-13 years, from Ryan International School, Gurgaon. The day long program was organized in two sessions. The 1st was a classroom session, dealing with all the theoretical knowledge of road rules and precautions to be taken for safety etc. the 2nd session was a practical one where students were taught basics of road safety practically and importance of riding gear and bike riding experience with the Yamaha TTR 50 and PW 50 bikes for 50 students from Yamaha’s licensed trainers.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Jun Nakata, Director-Sales and Marketing, India Yamaha Motor, said, “Understanding the need for an accident free environment, we feel that safe riding habits should be inculcated from the start and that is why our Yamaha Safe Riding Science (YSRS) initiative is directed towards today’s kids & youth. We want to teach them the nuances of riding safely so that when they grow up and start riding bikes they are well aware of traffic safety and proper riding techniques. We are glad that our YSRS initiative has been acknowledged and well accepted across India.”
The program was a part of Yamaha’s campaign which is organized by the company every year to create awareness amongst the youngsters about the need and importance of safe riding and safety measures that bikers should adopt for a safe ride. This initiative has been developed conforming to the company’s philosophy that safe riding can be achieved only through intelligence and appropriate efforts.
had launched its Yamaha Safe Riding Science (YSRS) initiatives in the country in 2008. This was first such event organized for kids. Earlier the company had successfully educated the youth of several capital cities in India. The initiative received overwhelming response everywhere.
