Altroz, the upcoming premium hatchback from Tata Motors, has been spotted again. Images of the vehicle, this time, offer a clear view of the car’s cabin. The pictures, now being widely circulated on the internet, seem to be of the car’s production version.

The interior of the Altroz is almost similar to the car’s pre-production model showcased earlier at the Geneva Motor Show. The steering is flat-bottomed and has cruise control buttons alongside the media controls. The cabin has a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment unit with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support. The speedometer is the only analogue function on the instrument cluster. The entire cabin has a two-tone colour scheme and has blue ambient lighting. There’s a push-button start-stop feature on one of the door handles which means that the car will have a passive keyless entry system. There’s also an eco-drive button.

The Tata Altroz would be offered in both diesel and petrol engine options. The car may borrow the 1.5-litre diesel motor from the Nexon which produces 110PS maximum power and 220Nm peak torque. The Nexon’s turbocharged 1.2-litre petrol motor, on the other hand, outputs 100PS maximum power and 140Nm peak torque. The naturally aspirated, 1.2-litre petrol motor from the Tiago may also find its way to the Altroz. The motor produces 85PS maximum power and 114Nm peak torque. All three engines will have a 5-speed manual gearbox as standard. The two petrol motors may get automotive manual transmission (AMT) as an option.

The Altroz was expected to debut this month but its launch has now been pushed back to November. Reports suggest that the current slowdown in the Indian automobile market is the reason behind the delay.

The Altroz is likely to be priced between ₹5.5 lakh to ₹8.5 lakh. It will lock horns with the Honda Jazz, Volkswagen Polo, Maruti Suzuki Baleno, and the Hyundai Elite i10 in its class.
