Toyota receives 12,000 bookings for Etios

Car maker Toyota has received 12,000 orders for its new sedan Etios in India since its launch. The company began to take orders on 1 December this year. The company aims to sell 70,000 units annually in the country.


Toyota has launched Etios with the aim to sell in large volumes. The car is the company's first made for India car. "The number of orders is far bigger than I personally expected," said Yoshinori Noritake, chief engineer of the car. The company is aiming to double its total sales to 145,000 units in India.
