Toyota Etios Cross Unveiled-May 2014 Sales Launch

Toyota has unveiled the new Etios Cross at the Auto Expo 2014 and has announced that it will launch the car and reveal its prices in May 2014. It brings a whole lot of new features and will meet the highest standards according to Toyota India. The car will be available in 8 colors in all such as Inferno Orange, Ultramarine Blue, Symphony White, Celestial Black, White, Vermilion, Red & Harmony Beige  and Classic Grey in the Indian car market. Toyota had recently launched this model in Brazil and now India gets it as well.


Toyota Etios Cross is a sub-4 meter car and it will be available in 3 engine options of 1.5 Litre Petrol (DOHC) which makes 90PS of power at 5600 rpm. The other petrol engine is a 1.2L mill that makes 80 PS of power at 5600 rpm and the diesel engine option that makes 68 PS of power at 3800 rpm.

Some of the Key features of the Etios Cross is that it brings a Grille Guard on the front fascia along with distinctive side cladding, Roof rails and a very bold looking fron grille. It has a rear cladding and roof spoiler. It also brings fog lamps integrated with the turn indicators and rear defogger with wiper.


Interior features includes sporty seat fabric with white stitching and logo. It has in-car entertainment in the form of a 2 DIN audio with Bluetooth, USB, Aux-in and Remote compatibilities. It also brings steering mounted audio controls and leather wrapped steering wheel.


According to Mr. Akio Nishimura, Chief Engineer, TMC, “The Etios was introduced in India with a vision to offer the Indian market a quality Toyota vehicle at an affordable price. At this vehicle category has been increasingly growing, the needs of the customers have diversified. Keeping in mind, we at Toyota strived to understand the customer needs for a cross and came up with the Etios Cross which is a perfect combination of rugged styling, performance, functions, features and the promise of Toyota’s global standards of QDR.

Toyota has a very strong base of operations in India. The Etios series with the Liva Hatchback and Etios Sedan has been selling very well with more than 2 lakh customers who have bought in to the Etios series. The Cross will be the third model to join the Etios platform in the country. Toyota will be able to cater further to a wider segment once the Cross has been launched and the deliveries begin after May 2014.
