Top-end Honda CR-V updated in India

While a face-lifted version of the current generation CR-V has been released in some international markets, here in India, Honda has updated the top-end variant of the four-wheel drive automatic CR-V with a few extra features to enhance its appeal.

Lets take a look at these new features. The Honda CR-V 2.4 4WD AT now gets a 7 inch touch screen display for its infotainment system, the rear view camera now comes with multi angle view with dynamic guidelines, an auto dimming interior rear view mirror, keyless entry and start/stop, there is a keyless lock button on the tailgate as well, Siri voice recognition, HDMI video compatibility and Bluetooth telephony are other additions. Cosmetic enhancements include a tail pipe finisher and chrome inside door handles, along with a new cover.

The Honda CR-V is available on the market with a choice of three variants as of now with prices ranging between Rs. 21.09 lakh to Rs. 25.09 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).

Honda offers the CR-V in India with the choice of a 2.0 litre, four cylinder petrol engine and a 2.4 litre, four cylinder petrol engine. The 2.0 litre engine is available with the option of a 6-speed manual gearbox as well as a 5-speed automatic gearbox. Power is sent to the front wheels. Both versions develop 156PS of peak power @ 6,500 rpm and 190Nm of max torque @ 4,300 rpm and have an ARAI rated fuel efficiency figure of 13.7 km/l.

The 2.4 litre engined Honda CR-V’s engine develops 190PS of max power @ 7,000 rpm and 226Nm of peak torque @ 4,400 rpm. The engine is mated to a five-speed automatic gearbox and power is sent to all four wheels. The Honda CR-V 2.4 AT has an ARAI claimed fuel efficiency figure of 12 km/l.

As a petrol only premium SUV, the CR-V does not have a direct rival in the Indian car market.
