Tata Teases 7-seater SUV Based On Harrier

  • Feb 28, 2019

Tata has officially dropped the teaser of its upcoming 7-seater SUV based on the Harrier ahead of its reveal next month at the Geneva Motor Show. The new SUV shares the OMEGA ARC platform with its sibling Harrier.

Lately, Tata confirmed that the seven-seater Harrier (H7X) will be launched sometime this year. Also, recent spy shots reveal that the seven-seater Harrier will come with a reworked back that's flattened, unlike the one on the standard Harrier, which has a curved design. This teaser is already hinting at the reveal of the 7-seater Harrier and no other SUV based on the Harrier.

A look at the teaser shows that the front is quite similar to the current Harrier, while the roofline is a lot flatter. The rear section gets a boxy structure, unlike curved tailgate of the outgoing Harrier. This is also to add a fair amount of head and shoulder room for the occupants seated in the last row. Additionally, a bigger windshield than what the standard Harrier has is also visible along with the shark fin antenna and an integrated roof spoiler.

Under the hood, there is a high possibility that the 7-seater SUV will feature a more powerful diesel unit than Harrier’s 2.0-litre diesel unit that pumps out a max power of 140PS.

The company is likely to give a different name to the teased SUV, most likely it will be Buzzard. However, information about the new SUV is vague at the moment. We’ll have to wait until Tata takes the mystery covers off the new model at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show, which gets underway from 7th March until 17th March 2019. Stay tuned with us for all the updates regarding the upcoming auto extravaganza.
