From April 2019 Tata passenger cars will get costlier by up to Rs 25,000. The price hike is a

result of rising input costs and other external economic conditions as told by the automaker.

Recently, Tata-owned Jaguar Land Rover also announced a price hike of about 4% on its

models (only selected models). The price of recently launched Harrier SUV will also be

revised. Currently, it retails in the price bracket of Rs 12.69 lakh to Rs 16.25 lakh (ex-

showroom Delhi).

The president of the passenger vehicle business unit at Tata Motors, Mayank Pareek said,

“The changing market conditions, rising input costs and various external economic factors

have compelled us to consider this price increase. We are confident of maintaining our

growth trajectory in the coming months on the back of our robust portfolio consisting of

segment-leading products like Tiago, Hexa, Tigor, Nexon and the Harrier.”

Some of the other cars Tata will be bringing in the country by the end of this year include the

Altroz and the 7-seat Harrier. Apart from these, the company has more products lined up for

launch in the near future, including the Altroz EV and the model based on the H2X concept.

All these models were recently showcased at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show.
