By now it has been established that the 2016 Geneva Motor Show will see a flurry of launches. Be it hatches, sedans, SUVs, sportscars or whatever. In a bid to celebrate the success of its crossovers in Europe, Nissan thought that it will also be showcasing a concept version of two of its crossovers, the Qashqai and the X-Trail. The idea is to see how custom designs and features can broaden the appeal and desirability of these two models. The two cars are called the Qashqai Premium Concept and the X-Trail Premium Concept. While they are separate models, the colours, materials and themes which run through them mean they are unmistakably a pair. The Qashqai Premium Concept has been created by Nissan Design Europe (NDE) in the heart of London, while the X-Trail Premium Concept is the work of Nissan’s Global Design Centre (GDC) in Japan. The Qashqai premium concept is more urban and suave in its approach, while the X-Trail premium concept is more rugged and brawny.

Both the cars use a refreshing colour scheme on the exterior with golden copper accents that make these two crossovers look rather stylish and sophisticated. The Qashqai premium concept gets bits of carbon fibre around the bumpers and the wheel arches. Coming to the front fascia, the pronounced 'V' that starts from the bonnet and culminates at the grille, adorned with the Nissan badge adds oodles of presence to the Qashqai. The other interesting details are inside, where Nissan has made use of exotic Nappa leather upholstery with quilted finish on the seat backrests and the squabs. The interiors have been further beautified with one of a kind golden copper gold carbon fibre weave pattern, rich black satin finish and a liquid gloss black on the steering wheel and the gear shifter.

The X-Trail premium concept, on the other hand, is draped in monochromatic hues with the black bit being carbon fibre, on the hood and the roof. The golden copper accents work their magic here as, specially on the skid plate at the front. The body claddings come painted in glossy black shade which definitely ups the ante when it comes to sheer looks. Inside, the upholstery can be specified in a natural tan and black leather which oozes of elegance and class. Seats come draped in tan leather and gold pearl piping on the backrest and the squabs. The dash and the door trims get carbon fibre finishing to match the overall sporty look of the X-Trail premium concept.
