Next-gen Hyundai Elantra interiors teased

After revealing the exterior images of the next-generation Hyundai Elantra, the Korean car manufacturer has now officially teased the interior images of the upcoming sedan.

The interior images reveal that the upcoming Hyundai Elantra’s cabin has been inspired by the new Hyundai Tuscon in the international markets. The cabin boasts of all black theme with some chrome and silver accents. The centre console now features a new infotainment system with display. It gets air-vents on both the sides, while the air-conditioner buttons have been positioned just below the infotainment system.

The dashboard of the next-generation sedan is now rectangular in shape instead of the flowing one. It also comes with small utility spaces at the centre console.

Other features that are expected to come equipped with the new Hyundai Elantra are Android Auto and Apple CarPlay smartphone connectivity enabled multimedia system with an 8-inch display, Infinity entertainment-system, cooled/heated seats, start/stop button, automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection and much more. These features will be offered in the international model, but it is still unclear that how many of them will make their way to the Indian market.

The exteriors, on the other hand, will continue to follow the company’s Fluidic Sculpture 2.0 design philosophy coupled with new sleek headlamps, hexagonal grille with chrome finish and new fog lamp cluster.

As far as the engine options are concerned, the new Hyundai Elantra is expected to be powered by a 1.6-litre, turbocharged, GDi, four-cylinder petrol engine that develops around 175PS of maximum power. The motor will come mated with a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission.

According to the carmaker, the company will be launching the new Hyundai Elantra in International markets soon, followed by the launch in the Indian car market later this year or at the upcoming Indian Auto Expo.

It is also expected that the automaker will price the 2016 Elantra very aggressively to compete against the likes of Toyota Corolla Altis, Skoda Octavia and Volkswagen Jetta in the segment.
