Mercedes-Benz Performance Drive 2013: International events

Mercedes-Benz has launched ‘Mercedes-Benz Performance Drive’, India's most comprehensive driving events platform. The main events of its international driving platform are: GRAZ, Winter and World Tour.

GRAZ: The registration to this event is by invitation only. The location is Austria. This event will provide an unparalleled opportunity to experience the birthing of the G-Class at the G-Wagon plant and then a chance to get into its driver's seat. The participants will drive over obstacles and natural terrains and experience the capabilities of the G-Class. While driving through the picturesque locations of this quite town, get ready to attract more eyeballs than you have ever imagined.

There is no fees required to participate in this event.

Winter: As the name suggests, honing your driving skills in the extreme winters is what this particular event has in store for you. The location will be Arjeplog, Sweden, near the Arctic Circle. A temperature of minus 20 degree Celsius, ice patches and hard packed snow will give you an ideal situation to perfect you driving skills on ice and snow. The available training vehicles for the Winter Sporting ADVANCED program are: E 63 AMG, the C 63 AMG and the SLK 55 AMG. Plenty of transverse dynamics and optimal learning success are assured of course – through the use of special spike tires on all vehicles. The program will train you both intensively and safely while giving you an opportunity to enjoy the breath-taking nature of Lapland. The specially designed training program is with fully disabled ESP (Electronic Stability Program). While enjoying your driving experience, the individual attention ensures that your training success for perfect vehicle control comes quickly. Not only this, also get ready for exclusive catering and accommodation in AMG's own lodge.

It is a four days long program starting from 8th march - 11th march 2013 and the prerequisites is a valid driving license. Programme fees is Rs 3,10,000 which will provide you theoretical and practical driving training (German/English).

World Tour: Half way around the world in your own G-Class, starting in Poland and taking in Russia, Kazakhastan, China, Tibet, Nepal and Bhutan before arriving in India. This 47 day tour will give you chance to visit the city of Moscow, cross the Taklamakan desert, visiting the Potala Palace in Lhasa and climb to an altitude of well over 5,000 metres to reach one of the Mount Everest base camps. Apart from challenging your driving skills, each day will bring you unparalleled experiences and new surprises. After some 17,000 kilometres, the adventure will draw to a close in India. You will fly back from here, while the off-roaders are shipped home in containers. Dates are from 16th September 2013 to 1st November 2013. Fee is Rs. 19,00,000.
