Wheels are driven by the, now ubiquitous, 2143cc inline four diesel engine that makes 204 PS of power and 500 Nm of torque between 1600 and 1800 RPM. The acceleration to triple digits is dispatched in 6.6 seconds while the top speed is restricted to 247 km/h. Smart features include LED headlights and taillights with Intelligent Lighting System that can detect the weather conditions and adjust their luminosity and angle to offer maximum illumination without dazzling the oncoming traffic.

The C 250 d even shows the Indian regulators that displacement is not directly proportional to pollution. In this Mercedes, the NOx from this car undercut the regulations by as much as 30% while the particulate matter is at an incredible 60% below the stipulated value. The fuel efficiency is also impressive at 19.71 km/l thereby limiting its CO2 footprint. This midsize luxury car has been priced at Rs. 44.36 lakh (ex-showroom, Pune).
