It's the season of fun and rain, not the sane. Ford recently launched its Mustang GT Fastback in India and Mercedes-AMG is getting ready to add some spice with the open-top, power-packed, two-door, SLC 43. The car is expected to go on sale on July 26, 2016, and being a low-volume model, it'll be coming to our shores via the CBU (direct import) route. That means buyers will have to pay hefty taxes as the final list price may hover in the Rs 80-90 lakh region.

The AMG badge on the car promises a lot of performance and that's what the SLC 43 will be delivering. It comes powered by a 3.0-litre, twin-turbo, V6, which pumps out 367PS of power. All of those horses are transferred to the rear wheels via a 9-speed autobox. The engine is capable of generating a massive peak torque of 520Nm at just 2000rpm.

Latest generation of technology, such as turbocharging and direct injection, have allowed AMG engineers to extract impressive performance with equally impressive fuel efficiency figures while keeping the tailpipe emissions in check. The SLC 43 AMG is capable of lasting 12.8km on every litre of petrol.

Thanks to its shorter gearing, this convertible is capable of reaching triple digits in just 4.7 seconds and can go on to touch its electronically-limited top speed of 250kmph. Speaking of convertible, it's also able to extend and retract the roof top automatically at the push of a button. The SLC 43 will go against the BMW Z4.
