Maruti Suzuki True Value Undergoes A Revamp

  • Aug 10, 2017

The country's largest carmaker has decided to overhaul its used car division - True Value. The company has decided to leverage the online platform and its chain of True Value stores for a physical presence.

The new stores will have a larger area devoted to the display of vehicles for sale to allow buyers to see and inspect the cars in person. Certified Maruti cars will undergo a 376-point test and will have to meet the following prerequisites:

- Less than two owners
- Less than 1,00,000km driven
- Under 7 years of age
- No retrofitted CNG/LPG kits
- Not used for commercial purposes

The cars will be refurbished for mechanical, electrical and visual issues before it enters the certified category. A certified car will be eligible for warranty and free services for a peaceful ownership experience. A simple star rating for each car will further simplify and thus speed up the purchase process.

Potential buyers will be able to browse through the cars using the True Value smartphone app and visit the specific outlets to inspect only the shortlisted vehicles and take a test drive. Maruti Suzuki plans to have 150 True Value stores with the new theme before March 2018. The first one is already operational in Dwarka, Sector 14, New Delhi.

A couple of years back, the company also transformed the buying experience with the Nexa outlets and recently started its first Nexa service centre. With True Value, Maruti Suzuki aims to change the way we shop for used cars.
