Maruti Suzuki has blessed the Eeco with plenty of new safety features to bring it in line with the latest safety norms. The Eeco is a popular drive among commercial as well as private buyers. The Tour V variant, which is especially aimed at fleet owners comes with a speed limiter and not the speed alert system, which comes with other Eeco variants. The new safety features added to the feature column are ABS with EBD, driver airbag, rear parking sensors, and co-driver seatbelt reminders.

Aside from this, nothing has been altered or added. The Eeco is offered in 5-seater and 7-seater options, of which the former comes with an AC variant. Mechanically, the Eeco continues to draw power from the 1.2-litre four-cylinder petrol engine as before. It churns out a max power of 73 PS and a peak torque of 101Nm, mated to a 5-speed manual transmission that powers the rear wheels. There is a CNG option available as well, which produces 63PS of power and 85Nm of torque. While running on petrol it yields a fuel efficiency of 15.37kmpl, however, this figure rises to 21.94Kg/km when driven on CNG.

Talking about the pricing, it now starts from Rs 3.52 lakh, which is Rs 15,000 more than the previous standard variant price of Rs 3.37 lakh. The top-of-the-line AC CNG-powered 5-seater Eeco is now available at a price of Rs 4.65 lakh (all prices ex-showroom Delhi). Following is the variant-wise price list of different Maruti Suzuki Eeco variants.

Variant Old Price New Price
5-seater Standard Rs 3.37 lakh Rs 3.52 lakh
5-seater Standard CNG Rs 4.10 lakh Rs 4.25 lakh
5-seater AC Rs 3.70 lakh Rs 3.92 lakh
5-seater AC CNG Rs 4.43 lakh Rs 4.65 lakh
7-seater Standard Rs 3.57 lakh Rs 3.80 lakh

With the inclusion of new safety features, it can be inferred that the Eeco is here for at least another six to seven months. Thereafter, more stringent crash test norms will take effect from October 2019 which this model is yet to pass. The Eeco has no direct competition in the Indian market except the two models, the Datsun Go+ and the Maruti Omni, that are similar in functionalities and prices.
