Mahindra is set to celebrate the first anniversary of the 'Kool' KUV100 compact-crossover. A leaked brochure reveals the additions the company will make to the car. Launched in January 2016, the company has been able to sell over 40,000 units of the car till December 2016 but is not a sales success as of now.

The KUV100 anniversary edition seems to be available only on the K8 variant. These get dual tone paint options - units with the Flamboyant Red and Dazzling Silver paint can be had with a glossy black roof. Inside, the anniversary edition is set to get an all-black theme, the standard units get a black-and-grey theme.

Apart from the anniversary edition, Mahindra will offer the K6 and K6+ variants with 14-inch alloy wheels; the K6 and K6+ variants have been only offered with steel wheels till now. The K8 variant will be offered with a larger 15-inch alloy wheel, the KUV100 was offered with 14-inch wheels as standard earlier.

Mahindra is also set to launch new accessories packs with the annoversary edition: Sporty Exterior, Sporty Interior, Premium Exterior and Premium Interior.

Engine options are expected to remain the same as before. The KUV100 is powered by either a 'mFalcon G80' 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder, petrol motor developing 83PS/115Nm or a 'mFalcon D75' 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder diesel motor developing 78PS/190Nm. Both the engines are paired with 5-speed manual transmissions, with power sent to the front wheels.

Prices of the Mahindra KUV100 anniversary edition are not expected to be much higher than what the car commands right now. Ex-showroom Delhi, the car is priced from Rs 4.58 lakh to Rs 7.15 lakh.

It is rumoured that Mahindra is planning to update the KUV100 with more efficient engines, the petrol motor has an ARAI-certified mileage of 18.16kmpl and the diesel returns 25.32kmpl. It is also rumoured that Mahindra will equip the KUV100 with an AMT to make it more appealing for those looking for a convenient compact car.
