While we are still waiting for the 2020 Hyundai Creta that will land on the Indian shores at the 2020 Auto Expo, the all-new SUV has already started hitting the showrooms in China. So, with the ix25 or the China-spec 2020 Hyundai Creta out in the flesh, let's have a look at the exterior and the interior of the newest iteration of the compact SUV.

On The Outside

Let's begin with the exterior of the 2020 Hyundai Creta. Courtesy of the Hyundai’s new Sensuous 2.0 design philosophy, the updated Creta flaunts a brand new front end that incorporates a two-tier lighting setup with the LED DRLs sitting above the multi-reflector LED headlamps which now flank a blacked-out grille with chrome surrounds.

There is also a pair of fog lamps and faux skid plate painted in grey. Moving on to the side profile of the China-spec ix25, we find the SUV to sport the same boxy silhouette as before. However, we do see a new set of alloy wheels, silver C-pillar, and a blacked-out roof for a dual-tone appearance. Lastly, just like the front end of the SUV, the rear has also been heavily tweaked and now features a light bar that conjoins the two taillamps. Also, the new tailgate is more muscular than before, and a black bumper with a silver skid plate provides the SUV with a rugged look.

On The Inside

Much like the exterior of the new Creta or ix25, the interior is also a new story altogether. There is a brand new dashboard layout that features a Tesla-inspired vertically stacked touchscreen unit that incorporates display & controls for the infotainment system and climate control. Interestingly, another set of images has revealed a different dashboard layout that features a Kia Seltos like setup.

Only time will tell whether the India-spec 2020 Hyundai Creta will sport a Tesla-like or a Seltos-like dashboard layout. Other updates include a fresh semi-digital instrument cluster with a multi-info display (MID) in the centre and an eSIM for Hyundai’s BlueLink connected car technology features. While the multifunction steering wheel seems similar, a new gear selector should also make its way to the India-sped 2020 Hyundai Creta.

Under The Hood

The Chine-spec ix25 gets its juices from a 1.5-litre petrol engine, and it's the only motor that is on offer over there. The India-spec 2020 Hyundai Creta, on the other hand, will share its powerhouses with the BS-6 compliant 1.5-litre petrol and 1.5-litre diesel engines that are found on the Kia Seltos. We also expect an N-Line variant making its way to India with a 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol mill.
