Renault has launched the Second Anniversary Edition of the Kwid to celebrate the two successful years since the little wonder went on sale. The special edition hatchback is available in the top two trims (RXL and RXT) with the 800cc as well as 1.0-litre powertrains. Sadly, the AMT variants aren't invited to the second-anniversary celebration party.

The ex-showroom Delhi pricing of Kwid Second Anniversary Edition as follows:

- RXL 0.8-litre: Rs 3.43 lakh

- RXT 0.8-litre: Rs 3.76 lakh

- RXL 1.0-litre: Rs 3.64 lakh

- RXT 1.0-litre: Rs 3.98 lakh

These prices are Rs 15,000 more than the regular options, and for that premium, you get:

- '02' sticker on the bonnet, rear doors

- C-pillar graphics that run across the roof

- Two-tone treatment for the outside mirrors

- Contrast colour wheel covers

- Colour accents on the fake front and rear skid plates

- Dual-tone upholstery with '02' badges

- Dark Ivory shade on outside AC vents and centre console

- '02' badges on the floor mats

The special edition is available only in the red or white body colours. The stickering and designer accessories look tasteful especially because they're done on the best-looking car south of Rs 5 lakh. Rs 15,000 is a decent price to pay for the additional kit as buyers considering the Kwid are ready to break away from the herd, and this edition allows them to do so while making a fashion statement.

The Kwid's styling, feature list, cabin space, ride quality and impressive ground clearance coupled with an aggressive price tag made it an instant hit. The car pushed all the right buttons and cut corners only in areas that don't matter as much to the buyers. It succeeded in a segment where no one had survived before. The Kwid's success has put a lot of pressure on the two big carmakers, who are rumoured to be working on cars to rival the little wonder. We're expecting to see the Maruti Suzuki Crosshiker and Hyundai's new small car with AMT at the 2018 Auto Expo.
