Ferrari has launched its 4-seater sportscar, the GTC4Lusso, at Rs 5.2 crore. The more affordable variant of the car, called the GTC4Lusso T, is priced at Rs 4.2 crore.

The GTC4Lusso is a luxurious and sporty 4-seater car with a 6.3-litre V12 powering all four wheels for improved traction. A wheelbase of 2990m keeps it stable on the straights while rear-wheel steering makes it agile in close quarters. The power and torque output of the GTC4Lusso stand at 690PS and 697Nm, respectively. Coupled to a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic, this car can accelerate to 100kmph from standstill in 3.4 seconds.

The more affordable variant of the sportscar costs a crore less and uses a smaller, 3.9-litre turbocharged V8 instead of a massive V12. Despite four fewer cylinders and a lower displacement, it's not something to be ignored. The turbos help it clock 610PS and 760Nm. The only problem is that it doesn't rev as freely as the naturally-aspirated engine. The power is sent to the rear wheels only via the same 7-speed dual-clutch automatic. Despite running quite far behind the V12 Lusso on paper, it's only slower to 100kmph by 0.2 seconds as it takes only 3.6 seconds. Traction is limited due to the lack of an all-wheel drive, but it's still very manageable in tight spaces, thanks to the four-wheel steering.

Other features of the car include a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and satellite navigation. The latest Ferrari replaces the previous 4-seater, FF, and competes with the Aston Martin Rapide.
