Jaguar in America has issued a recall for 1,571 units of the company’s XJ flagship luxury sedan. The cars recalled consist of 2015 and 2015 model types manufactured between February 6 and July 12, 2014. Jaguar issue the recall for the XJ due to the possibility of brake fluid leaking from the brake line junctions under the vehicle. Leaking brake fluid will invariably reduce the amount of brake fluid in the car’s hydraulic lines, causing the brakes to become less and less effective over time.

The recall has been publicized by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration in the country to aid in the recall. Owners of the Jaguar XJ models effected by the recall are being notified to take their vehicles in for inspection to their local Jaguar dealers to have the brake line junctions of their cars inspected and tightened.

This recall for leaking brake line junctions of the Jaguar XJ is completely unrelated to the company’s earlier November recall of the F-Type, 2015 XF and XJ models in relation to two separate problems.

Jaguar in India used to import the XJ into the country as completely built units. But from May 2014 onwards, the company started assembling it’s flagship luxury sedan in India at Jaguar Land Rover’s plant in Chakan, near Pune in Maharahstra. Jaguar Land Rover India also assembles the Jaguar XF executive luxury sedan at the plant along with the Land Rover Freelander.

The Jaguar XJ recall in the US does not effect XJ models in India.
