Toyota is set to launch the hatchback Etios Liva in the first week of June. Earlier the car company had planned to launch the small car in April this year, but was forced to postpone it due to the waiting period of Etios sedan.
The impending launch of Etios Liva has been confirmed by Sandeep Singh, Deputy Managing Director (Marketing) of Toyota Kirloskar Motors. The company seems to be testing the car on the road as it has been spotted in Bangalore in past some weeks.
Etios Liva will be powered by a 1.2 liter petrol engine and is expected to be priced around Rs. 4 lakh. The compact car segment is soon going to see fierce competition as many car makers have already launched or are planning to launch a product for the category. Hyundai is also working on a small car for India that will be positioned below Santro. Etios Liva will compete with other hatchbacks of the market like Ford Figo, Volkswagen Polo and Nissan Micra.
