Hyundai Venue SUV To Debut Tomorrow

  • May 20, 2019

The Hyundai Venue SUV, slated to rival the Mahindra XUV300, is all set to debut in India tomorrow. The car has been showcased on a billboard at the Times Square and will be unveiled at the New York International Auto Show (NYIAS) on the same day. The Venue will be a global product from the Korean automobile manufacturer. It will also be Hyundai’s first sub-compact SUV in India when the car finally hits the streets next month.

The Venue to be sold in India is likely to be hauled by a three-cylinder, turbocharged 1-litre petrol motor. The engine will be mated either to a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission (DCT) system. A 1.4-litre turbocharged diesel and petrol engine, with a standard 6-speed manual transmission, is also on the cards.

The Venue, featured on the Times Square billboard, is a two-tone model which appears to have a blue shade and a white roof. Some spy images of the vehicle recently surfaced on the internet, which reveals that the new car will get Hyundai’s signature cascading grille in a chequered pattern along with chrome highlights. The Venue will have a dual lamp setup, like the new Santa Fe and Kona, with daytime running LED headlights placed above the flanking on the bonnet line. The main projector headlamps will be positioned below the chrome embellishment. The two-tone design has been carried over on to the outside rearview mirrors (OVRMs) as well.

Hyundai recently released some pictures of the car’s interior that reveals that the Venue will have an 8-inch touchscreen display placed on a two-tone dashboard. The infotainment setup will support Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The Venue will have 33 connectivity features that include speed alerts, geo-fencing, a panic notification system, destination sharing, and an SOS button. There will be a special feature to call Hyundai’s roadside assistance.
