Hyundai Rolls Out Grand i10 Nios Ahead Of Official Launch

  • Aug 13, 2019

Hyundai Motor India rolled out the first Grand i10 Nios from its Sriperumbudur plant near Chennai yesterday, ahead of the car’s official launch of 20 August. The company has already opened pre-bookings of the Nios which is the third generation car in the series, following the i10 and Grand i10 models.

Managing director of Hyundai Motor India, SS Kim, said that the rollout of the Grand i10 Nios is a proud moment for the company. Hyundai has more than 2.7 million happy customers all over the world, he said, adding that the i10 series has been one of the bestselling cars in its segment.

The Grand i10 Nios will be available in the fiery red, typhoon silver, polar white, aqua teal, titan grey, and alpha blue colour options. The car commands an ex-showroom price between ₹5-7.65 lakh.

The Nios will have new interior and exterior styling. The Hyundai cascading grille, flanked by boomerang-shaped LED daytime running lights (DRLs), will be the most notable addition to the latest model in the i10 series.

The cabin of the Grand i10 Nios will have a new dashboard where the touchscreen infotainment unit will be integrated into the instrument cluster’s housing. The infotainment system is likely to be a smaller unit similar to the one seen on the Hyundai Venue.

The Nios will retain the same 1.2-litre diesel and petrol motor options from the existing version of the i10. The engines will be paired with a standard gear box and an automated manual transmission system (AMT). The car will come in the Era, Sportz, Magna, Sportz Dual Tone and Asta versions. The diesel motor, however, won’t be available in the Sportz Dual Tone and the entry-level Era trims. Neither the diesel-AMT nor the petrol-AMT will be available in the top-level Asta version.

The Hyundai Grand i10 Nios will compete with Ford Figo, Maruti Suzuki Ignis and Swift, and the Nissan Micra in its segment.
