Ford Dealers Get The New 2019 Endeavour Ahead Of Launch

  • Feb 12, 2019

Just ahead of the 2019 Ford Endeavour’s official launch, which is scheduled to take place on 22 Feb 2019, the premium SUV has been spied at a dealership outlet. The images reveal interiors of the updated model along with its exteriors and it looks quite similar to the international-spec Endeavour that debuted last year in May.

On the outside, the 2019 Endeavour gets refreshed bumpers, front as well as rear, revised front grille, and new 18-inch alloy wheels. The grand appeal remains intact though. From the inside, it looks familiar to the outgoing model. The most significant change is the replacement of the beige brown upholstery with the new beige black upholstery.

Moreover, the Endeavour facelift gets some new features in form of push-button start, a new SYNC3 touchscreen infotainment system, and powered co-driver seat. Features from the outgoing model that continue to be a part of the updated model include semi-auto parallel parking assist, dual-zone air conditioning, panoramic sunroof, and seven airbags.

No change is expected at its core and the updated Endeavour is likely to come with the same engine options, 2.2-litre, and 3.2-litre diesel engines. While the larger displacement 3.2-litre engine pumps out a max power of 200 PS and a peak torque of 470 Nm, the smaller 2.2-litre diesel mill is capable of producing 160 PS of max power and 385 Nm of peak torque. Both engines come coupled with a 6-speed automatic transmission system. Of the two variants, the 3.2-litre variant is an FWD model.

In Thailand, the Ford Endeavour comes with the new EcoBlue diesel engine that’s available in two tune states, both producing different outputs. While the first is rated at 182 PS and 420 Nm of power and torque respectively, the other variant outputs 215 PS and 500 Nm, both mated to a 10-speed auto transmission.

We expect the blue-oval brand to introduce EcoBlue diesel engine in India as well but not before 1 April 2020, it is when the BSVI norms come into effect.

Currently, the outgoing Endeavour is priced in the range of Rs 26.82 lakh to Rs 33.31 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). We expect the updated model to be priced around the same price bracket. The Endeavour competes against the likes of Toyota Fortuner, Isuzu mu-X, upcoming Mahindra Alturas G4, Honda CR-V, Skoda Kodiaq and Volkswagen Tiguan.
