Entry-Level Model Of Hyundai Venue Spotted

  • May 02, 2019

Hyundai Venue, the upcoming subcompact sports utility vehicle (SUV), is being seen more often during its test run. The car is nearing its 21 May launch and the test runs have revealed a fair idea of what to expect from the Korean automobile manufacturer’s stable. The SX (O) top-end variant of the car was earlier seen and now the entry-level model has been spotted.

The Hyundai Venue basic version has several omissions compared to the top-end model. It doesn’t have projector headlamps and fog lamps. The daytime running lights (DRLs) have been replaced by chrome eyebrows. The Hyundai Venue standard misses out on the outside mirror-mounted turning indicators. These are placed only on the fenders. The doors of the entry-level car miss out on the chrome treatment. Dual-tone alloy wheels in the top-end model have been replaced with steel covers and rims in the standard version. Pictures of the entry-level Venue have revealed 15-inch wheels instead of the 16-inch ones in the top-end model. The shark fin antenna in the latter car has been replaced by a short and stubby one. The new version, however, retains the roof rails just like the top-end version.

The lower model of the Venue is also likely to miss out on climate control and a touchscreen infotainment system. Standard safety features are expected to include antilock braking system (ABS) with electronic brake force distribution (ABD), speed alert, rear parking sensors, and passenger seat belt alert on both front seats.

The Hyundai Venue will be available in three engine options, a 1.4-litre diesel, 1.2-litre petrol, and an all-new 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol unit.

The new Hyundai car is expected to command a price of INR7.5-12 lakh. The car, when launched, will face competition from the Ford EcoSport, Maruti Vitara Brezza, Mahindra XUV300, and Tata Nexon in its segment.
