The Japanese carmaker, Toyota, is immensely popular in India for nameplates like the Innova (now Innova Crysta) and Fortuner. The Corolla (now Corolla Altis) brand also finds a firm footing and remains one of the top selling cars in its segment. It's, however, the Etios series that hasn't been able to cultivate a cult following as the other Toyota products in the market.

The Etios and Etios Liva are popular in the commercial segment owing to a roomy cabin, frugal diesel engine and Toyota reliability promise. However, the cars haven't made as big an impact with the private buyers. And the pain point appears to be their looks, something that Toyota tries to address everytime with an update.

The carmaker is now offering a cosmetic and feature package with the newly introduced Platinum Etios Liva to impress the private segment. Available only in the top V and VX trims, the new package comes with a few cosmetic updates and a couple of new features. The package is available in three exterior colours - Ultramarine Blue, Vermilion Red and Super White.

Here's what Toyota is offering in the package:

Front Grille with black finish

Chrome Fog Lamp Bezel

Electrically Foldable ORVMs

Roof Spoiler

Piano Black Instrument Panel

Rear Removable Headrests

New Optitron Combimeter

The dual-tone Etios Liva is available with both petrol and diesel engines. Prices (Ex-showroom Mumbai) for the dual-tone Etios Liva are as follows:

Petrol - Rs 5,94,535 (V) and Rs 6,44,861 (VX) 5,79,535

Diesel - Rs 7,24,361 (V) and Rs 7,61,403 (VX) 7,09,361

Prices (Ex-showroom Mumbai) of the regular Etios Liva are as follows:

Petrol - Rs 5,79,535 (V) and Rs 6,34,861 (VX)

Diesel - Rs 7,09,361 (V) and Rs 7,51,403 (VX)

The price difference between the dual-tone version and the regular Etios Liva in the V trims is Rs 15,000 while for the VX trim, it reduces to Rs 10,000. The VX trim already features fog lamp chrome bezel and electrically foldable ORVMs, therefore there's a difference in the package for the two variants.

Toyota launched the Platinum Etios and Etios Liva, the facelift of the Etios family, in September last year and this update to the model comes within the first half year of the launch of the refreshed version.
