Current-gen Renault Duster Spotted With LED DRLs

  • Mar 13, 2019

The Renault Duster facelift has been spotted testing. Looking at the spy shots, it seems that Renault is in no mood to launch the second-gen Duster anytime soon and it will be the Duster facelift that’ll make its way out in the market.

Covered under the camouflage, the Duster facelift seems to be hiding the revamped front profile, including the front grille and bumper. What’s visible at the front are the projector headlamps with restyled LED daytime running lights. The changes at the front might be to comply with the new pedestrian safety regulations. Any changes at the back are still unknown.

Whether Duster facelift will get new powertrain options or not is still a question to be answered. We believe if the company is planning to launch it soon then expect the Duster facelift to come with the same engine options. However, if the launch is scheduled for the next year, BSVI compliant engines will surely be on offer. With more stringent emission norms taking effect next year, we believe Renault will need to update both the Duster engines, 1.5-litre petrol and diesel engines.

Currently, the Duster 1.5-litre petrol churns out a max power of 106PS and a peak torque of 142Nm, mated to either 5-speed manual or a CVT. The diesel version, on the other hand, comes mated to either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed AMT. It produces 110PS of power and 245Nm of torque. It comes with AWD as an option.

We also expect that the automaker will add some new features to its list in order to compete against the arch-rival Hyundai Creta and the recently launched Nissan Kicks. An interior update will add icing on the cake.

The Renault Duster retails at a starting price of Rs 8 lakh and goes to up to Rs 13.10 lakh (both prices ex-showroom Delhi). The price for the facelift version is expected to go higher.
