Audi has launched the next generation TT in Coupe form in India. The new sportscar is based on the parent company’s latest platform - MQB, which has dramatically brought down the weight of the car by 50 kg. The TT was first introduced to the market way back in 1998 and now it has come a long way to share the same architecture that forms the base of Skoda Octavia, Volkswagen Passat, Audi A3 and many more cars from the Volkswagen Group.

Audi has done massive changes to the car and now it has a new face, with new headlamps and newly designed LED lamps, new bumpers, new alloy-wheels, new tail-lamps, all of which makes the car very attractive and aggressive.

In India, the new TT gets only one engine in form of 2.0-litre, four-cylinder, turbocharged unit that can produce as much as 230PS along with 370 Nm of maximum torque. The new engine is mated to a 6-speed dual clutch automatic transmission which can take the car from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.3 seconds. Audi claims the top speed to be 253 km/h.

On the inside, the new TT gets a new life in form of new instrument cluster that is known as Audi Virtual Cockpit and an all-new infotainment system that also works as the Audi MMI, hence, freeing up a lot of space.
