2020 Honda City Gets New Honda Connect System

  • Nov 27, 2019

Revealed in Thailand recently, the next-gen Honda City has received a design overhaul, a new powertrain option, and connected features. What’s interesting of all is the new and updated Honda Connect system. While the Honda cars came with Honda Connect that had a feature to keep a record of trips, to collect telemetry data, a geofencing feature and more.

With the updated Honda Connect, you can now lock and unlock doors, start the car and operate lights remotely. The new City gets a larger 8-inch touchscreen at the centre inside the cabin and not just this, it will also provide WiFi to passengers.

Currently, only models like MG Hector, Kia Seltos, Hyundai Elantra, and Hyundai Venue offer internet connectivity feature in the Indian auto market. In the coming years, we are expecting other carmakers to offer similar connected functionality across their premium models. Hyundai, with already offering it with Elantra and Venue, is likely to equip the upcoming Elite i20 and 2020 facelifted Verna, which is also the City’s arch-rival, with connected features.

The fifth-generation City is expected to come to India next year, maybe in the mid-2020. Currently, it has been launched only in Thailand with a starting price of 579,500 baht (Rs 13,67,980 approx). The official word on its launch in other regions of the world is yet to come out. Stay tuned with us for more information.
