Maruti Suzuki has launched the 2019 Ignis with cosmetic updates and inclusion of several safety aids, not as an option but standard. The funky looking hatchback is safer than before and it’ll only attract new buyers. The updated Ignis continues to feature the same 1.2-litre petrol engine under the hood. Mated to either 5-speed manual gearbox or 5-speed automatic transmission, the 2019 Ignis’s petrol unit pumps out a max power of 83PS and a peak torque of 113Nm.

Talking about the cosmetic updates, the 2019 Ignis gets new roof rails on the higher variants, including Zeta and Alpha. Additionally, the Ignis Zeta and the Ignis Alpha get a dual-tone paint option, which can be availed by paying an additional amount of Rs 13,000.

The 2019 Ignis has been blessed with features like co-driver seat belt reminder, rear parking sensors and a high-speed alert system that alerts the driver if the speed of the car crosses 80 kmph. All the three features are available as standard across the range. These features will be mandatory for all future cars that will provide added strength to the safety department. The new Ignis is now capable to comply with the upcoming safety norms.

The new updates have increased the retail price of the Maruti Ignis, but not by much. The starting model of the Ignis comes with a premium of Rs 13,000 over the pre-update price and now retails at Rs 4.79 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi), while the top-of-the-line model is priced at Rs 7.14 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi), which makes it Rs 11,000 more expensive than before.

The following table shows the pre-update and new prices for all the Ignis models, all prices mentioned below are ex-showroom Delhi.
