2019 Isuzu D-Max V-Cross Spied Again

  • Mar 27, 2019

The 2019 Isuzu D-Max V-Cross has been spied yet again. It looks similar to the model that’s currently on sale in Thailand. Additionally, it gets cosmetic updates similar to what the mu-X facelift received last year. From the spy images, it seems that it’s the top-spec variant that will come with the Prestige badging in India.

The 2019 Isuzu D-Max V-Cross, expected to be launched soon in the country, will come with a BSIV-compliant 1.9-litre diesel engine that will be upgraded to meet more stringent BSVI emission norms ahead of the deadline. April 1, 2020. The UK-spec D-Max with 1.9-litre diesel engine produces a max power of 164PS and a peak torque of 360Nm, mated to either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic gearbox. This combo will replace the currently fitted 2.5-litre diesel with a 5-speed manual transmission that produces 134PS of power and 320Nm of torque.

Aesthetically, the new Isuzu D-Max V-Cross will feature a refreshed front similar to the UK-spec model launched in 2017. Additionally, it will come with projector headlamps instead of halogens, redesigned front bumper and grille and updated rear section that includes bumper and taillamps.

Inside, there will be no major change. The beige-brown interior colour scheme will make way for the brown-black finish and silver-coloured trim elements will be replaced by the piano black inserts on the centre console, doors and the dashboard.

Since the model looks inspired by the UK-spec D-Max, the India-spec model is likely to get ABS with EBD and brake assist, hill start assist, electronic stability control, hill descent control, push-button start, rear parking sensors, parking camera, airbags (front, side and curtain), 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support, auto air conditioning, leather upholstery, leather-wrapped steering wheel, cruise control, LED DRLs, LED taillights and 18-inch alloy wheels.

The price for the new Isuzu D-Max V-Cross is expected to increase with the addition of new features and auto transmission. Currently, the pickup is available in two variants, the Standard which retails at Rs 15.32 lakh and the High variant with a price tag of Rs 16.82 lakh (both prices ex-showroom Delhi). The 2019 Isuzu D-Max V-Cross is expected to be launched in the first half of the ongoing year.
