2019 Ford Figo Facelift Teased Ahead Of Launch

  • Mar 13, 2019

Ahead of the 15th March launch, the American automaker has released teaser images of the 2019 Ford Figo facelift, showing us better of what it’s all about. The facelift version of the hatchback comes after four years of the introduction of the second-gen Figo in 2015. Though the styling was updated in 2018 with the Freestyle variant.

The updated Figo gets a dual-tone option with blue decals and highlights, glossy black front grille and bigger than before 15-inch black alloy wheels. This is the Figo Blue Edition. We have seen these black elements on the Sports Edition of the currently-on-sale Figo. The red Figo, on the other hand, gets 14-inch alloys and chrome accents. Further, the notable cosmetic updates account for revised front grille, bumpers and headlamps.

On the features front, the top-spec Ford Figo facelift is expected to come with a 6.5-inch FORD SYNC3 touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support and six airbags. Additionally, we expect it to come with dual front airbags, ABS with EBD and rear parking sensors as standard.

Under the hood, the new Figo will replace the previously-offered 1.5-litre petrol with DCT with the new and more powerful 1.2-litre three-cylinder petrol engine that will be mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. It churns out 96PS of power and 120Nm of torque.

The auto variant, on the other hand, is expected to be powered by the 1.5-litre Dragon series petrol unit, which will be coupled with a 6-speed torque converter and produce 123PS of power and 150Nm of torque. The new Figo is expected to come with the same 1.5-litre diesel engine as before but will be mated to a new 5-speed manual gearbox.

Challenging the likes of the Maruti Suzuki Swift and the Hyundai Grand i10, the 2019 Ford Figo is expected to feature a price in the range of Rs 5 lakh to Rs 7.6 lakh (ex-showroom).
