The refreshed Ford Endeavour is likely to go on sale by March this year. With subtle cosmetic changes and addition of new features, Ford is looking to spice things up in the segment.

The Ford Endeavour facelift went on sale in Thailand last year in July. The updated model received a few aesthetic upgrades with refreshed headlamps, front grille, and fog lamp surrounds. It also got new alloys to attract auto enthusiasts.

In India, we are expecting Ford to be on similar lines. The new 2019 Ford Endeavour is likely to get Ford’s SYNC 3 infotainment system and push-button start. The features that might not come with the India-spec model but they are on the Thailand-spec variant, include pedestrian and vehicle detection and AEB (autonomous emergency braking). The reason for it though is the restriction on the use of radar-based safety devices on cars available on the market in India.

No change is expected at its core. The new 2019 Ford Endeavour is expected to feature outgoing 2.2-litre and 3.2-litre diesel engines on the updated model. While the former and smaller displacement engine pumps out a max power of 160PS and a peak torque of 385 Nm, the larger 3.2-litre diesel mill puts out 200PS and 470Nm of max power and torque respectively. Ford has blessed a 6-speed automatic gearbox to both the variants.

In Thailand, the new Endeavour features the EcoBlue diesel engine that’s available in two versions, one producing 182PS of power and 420Nm of torque, while the other churning out 215PS and 500Nm of power and torque respectively. Both being mated to a 10-speed auto transmission. Considering the fact that BSVI norms will come in place from April 1, 2020, Ford might get this 2.0-litre EcoBlue diesel engine to India as well.

Currently, the Ford Endeavour is priced in the range of Rs 26.83 and 33.31 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). The updated version is likely to be priced in the same price bracket as there is the least possibility that Ford would revise its retail price to something higher.

The mammoth SUV from Ford fares against the likes of the Toyota Fortuner, Skoda Kodiaq, Isuzu MU-X, Honda CR-V, and Mahindra Alturas G4.
