Like the Civic, the Accord too was discontinued due to the lack of demand in the later months of 2013. Although its been barely a couple of years plus a few months, the Japanese manufacturer has plans of bringing back the premium D-segment sedan to India in the coming months. Honda had showcased the new Accord at the 2016 Bangkok Motor Show and boy, does it look good! The front fascia gets a bold chrome grille along with linear, angular headlamps. The bumper is much sharper than the previous model and gets a strip of LEDs for fog lamps. Sharp character lines and a sleek design make the Accord look much more contemporary than the earlier model. Inside, one can find wood and black piano themes and all the bells and whistles which make the cabin a comfortable space to be in. The Accord will be offered in two trims, the E and the EL. Under the hood, the Accord gets a choice between a 2.0-litre petrol engine that pumps out 153PS and 193Nm and there is a the 'Earth Dreams' 2.4-litre petrol motor which churns out 172PS and 225Nm. Both the engines are mated to an automatic transmission.

The Accord also gets an hybrid version  and in all probability, this will be the version that will come to India when it does. The Accord Hybrid gets a 2.0-litre petrol motor which generates 141PS and 165Nm. Along with it, is an AC synchronous permanent magnet electric motor which puts the total power output of the combined systems to almost 200PS. The hybrid engine comes mated to an e-CVT (electronic CVT) unit.
