2015 October sales: Top 10 best-selling cars

  • Nov 05, 2015

Honda City has re-entered the list of top 10 best-selling cars in the month of October replacing Omni at the ninth Position. Honda sold 7,022 units of the City in the last month while the Amaze maintained its strong sales of 6,971 units at tenth position.  However, the strong sales of  both City and Amaze failed to protect Honda's position in the list of top carmakers (Read Here: Car Sales in October 2015). In the month of September, Mahindra surpassed Honda to climb at the third position and last month, Ford raced ahead from Honda on the back of its new launches.

On the other hand, South Korean carmaker Hyundai dominated 5th, 6th and 8th position with Grand i10, Elite i20 and Creta, respectively. Moreover, the Grand i10 posted 14,079 units sales as compared to 11,241 units of the September month surpassing its own sibling Elite i20. The primary reason behind the Grand i10 posting strong sales is that the carmaker offered good discounts and incentives on the hatchback.  (Read Here: Hyundai introduces luxury car brand Genesis).

Mahindra Bolero regained its top position after two months in the list of top selling utility vehicles surpassing Hyundai's Creta by selling 7,754 units in the month of October. Experts believe that the majority of Bolero sales came from the rural market where festivals are observed as more auspicious occasions than in urban areas. People in the rural market tend to buy vehicles specially in the time of Navratri and Dussehra.

Irrespective of the market trend, the country's largest carmaker continues to dominate the top four positions in the list cars with Dzire, Alto, Swift and Wagon R.  However, the Celerio that posted 8,901 units of sales in the month of September was seen nowhere in the list.  Stay tuned to Gaadi for more updates on top selling cars in all the segments!
