Upcoming cars in February 2015

The February is the shortest month of the year but manufacturers are launching as many as four cars in this month. Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Volkswagen and Hyundai will launch  their offerings in the the market. While the Hyundai and Volkswagen launches will be facelifts of the products that are already available in India, BMW will launch the all-new hybrid supercar, the i8. Mercedes-Benz will add a new variant to the C-Class.


 Mercedes-Benz C220 CDI:

Mercedes-Benz launched the petrol version of the new C-Class in India and now, the company is planning to launch the diesel powered version of the car in form of C220 CDI. The C-Class is one of the best looking cars in the entry level luxury segment and from the outside and inside, the car will remain the same as the petrol version. Only change is the diesel engine, which is a 2.2-litre 4-cylinder mill with maximum power of 170 bhp while the torque maximizes at 400 Nm. The car gets a 7-speed dual clutch gearbox and can do 0-100 km/h in 7.4 seconds. The car will compete with Audi A4 and will come with a price tag of around Rs. 42 lakh.

Volkswagen Jetta:Volkswagen-Jetta_2015


The Jetta is finally getting a proper facelift after the last facelift happened in 2013. The updates injects new life to the Jetta with new grille and headlamps, new tail lamps, and minor changes all around the body. On the inside, the car gets changes like a new steering wheel, a new instrument cluster, a new trip computer display. On the inside, the Jetta remains unchanged except the revised power in the diesel engine which is now 10 bhp more than the current model.

The hybrid sportscar will be first of its kind in India. The car looks futuristic and has technology that can be termed as one of the most advanced. The i8 is powered by an electric motor and a petrol engine and will come to India on 18th February.

Hyundai Verna:New Hyundai Verna


Coming on 16th February, the new Verna will get many new changes on the outside. Mechanically, the Verna will be the same, except the suspensions, which will be updated to make the car less wobbly during high-speeds. The exteriors will see changes including LED Daytime Running Lamps, new headlamps, new front grille, LED tail lamps. The engine and transmission is carried from the current model.
