Here we take a look at some of the most sought after compact SUVs in the country including Mahindra TUV3OO, Hyundai Creta, Ford EcoSport and Renault Duster and see how they fare up against each other on the specification front.

Dimensions

If we ignore the numbers for a minute, the Duster is probable the most SUV-like car of the four. The Creta would come in at a close second place, followed by the recently launched TUV3OO and then the EcoSport. This is evident with each of their lengths as well, but the TUV3OO comes in after the EcoSport in this aspect.

However, TUV3OO is the widest of the four, followed by Duster, Creta and EcoSport, respectively. The most recent product, TUV3OO trumps its rivals in the height aspect as well, with the Creta being the shortest of the lot. The same story follows with the wheelbase as well, with the TUV3OO beating Duster, Creta and EcoSport in the same respective order.

The 110PS Duster engine tune is the only from the other three vehicles to come with an all-wheel system as an option. Verdict

All the four SUVs have different characteristics when compared to each other. The TUV3OO and the EcoSport have been tucked under the 4-metre mark to stay clear of excessive excise duties. As a result of this, these two are smaller than the Creta and the Duster. The Duster is by far the most dynamically rich SUV of the lot, offering a lot of driving pleasure. The Creta, on the other hand, can be termed as the most practical SUV, thanks to the oodles of equipment and space that it offers. The EcoSport has its own plus points including the superb 1.0-litre Ecoboost engine and a well equipped cabin. The most recent product, TUV3OO is a tough looking SUV with a good spacious cabin.

Therefore, choosing one from the aforementioned SUVs is a tough decision, given each of them are very different form each other, offering different characteristics altogether. Each of these SUVs will attract to different types of customers.
