There are several fast cars packing more horses but very few come close to looking as flashy and as edgy as a Lamborghini. The Aventador S is the latest to join the battalion.
The S is the crazier version of the Aventador but not as crazy as the SV trim. While they all share the same 6.5-litre naturally aspirated V12 powertrain, the S makes 740PS of power, which is 40PS more than the regular variant but 10PS less than the SV. A 7-speed Independent Shifting Rods gearbox transmits power to all four wheels for maximum traction, which helps the S rocket to 100kmph from standstill in 2.9 seconds.
Pirelli’s specially designed 255-section PZeros at the front and 355-section rubber at the back also help with their soft compound by gripping the tarmac. The low profile tyres wrapped around lightweight forged aluminium 20-inch wheels at the front and a pair of 21-inchers at the back provide a lot of feedback and minimal flex so that you can attack corners at scary speeds with loads of confidence. The sportscar can go on to attain a top speed of 350kmph.
It’s the second most powerful Lamborghini on sale right now after the SV and the only car to come with a four-wheel steering system. The technology allows the car to behave like a small car at low speeds giving it a smaller turning circle. At high speeds it changes its personality and the handling characteristics start to match with larger cars for extra stability while turning.
In addition to the Sport, Strada and Corsa modes, the Aventador S comes with an EGO mode. It allows you to customise the steering, suspension, stability control and transmission settings for a completely personalised driving experience. The Lamborghini Aventador S carries an ex-showroom price of Rs 5.5 crore in Delhi.
