After loads of spy pictures and official rendering of Hyundai i20 Active - the crossover version of the Elite i20, we get the official launch date of the one of the most awaited cars of this year. Hyundai will officially launch the i20 Active on 17th March 2015 and here are few things about the car which may interest you.
The Hyundai i20 Active is based on the Elite i20 - the car which quickly gained the sales number soon after the launch. The i20 Active will be distinctly different from the Elite i20 and will come with a new grille, body cladding around the car and plastic skid plates in front and rear painted in chrome. Hyundai i20 Active is designed at Hyundai’s Germany design centre and looks solid in the pictures.
The continues to get powered by the same set of petrol and diesel engines that come with the Elite i20 but the power figures are yet to be known. There is a possibility that Hyundai may work on the engine to bump the power output to balance the increased weight of the car due to the cladding and added parts.
Hyundai i20 Active will compete directly against the likes of Volkswagen Cross Polo, Fiat Avventura, and Toyota Etios Cross. If Hyundai increases the ground clearance, we may also see the i20 Active fighting against the Ford EcoSport.
Stay tuned as we will bring the Hyundai i20 Cross review soon!
