  • TVS XL100 Comfort Touring in Sri Lanka & 700 km Road Trip

    Jan 12, 2020  |  Posted in: TVS Videos |36 Views |Write Comment

    - Is it advisable to do a road trip on a moped? - What is the top speed of the TVS XL100? - How comfortable is the XL over long distances? For this year’s edition of TVS’ ride across Sri Lanka, we were given something a little…. unconventional. A 100cc moped isn’t exactly ideal for a 3 day trip across a nation, but that’s exactly what we did this time. The XL100 was our steed for this arduous 700km journey. What started out as a slow, boring and tedious ride turned into an epic road trip (with its fair share of challenges and difficulties) that completely transformed our opinion of the little moped. Dec 13, 2019  |  Posted in: TVS Videos |75 Views |Write Comment

    - BS6 Apache RTR 160 4V Launched In India At Rs 1.03 lakh (ex-showroom). - TVS Apache RTR 160 4V BS6 is available in three colour options: red, blue and black. - BS6 Apache RTR 200 4V top speed is 127kmph. - TVS Apache RTR 200 4V BS6 is priced at Rs 1.24 lakh. TVS had recently launched the BS6-complaint Apache RTR 160 4V and the Apache RTR 200 4V in India. But with the new stricter emission norms, do the new Apache 4Vs fall short in terms of performance? Well, we got a chance to rest the BS6 Apache 4Vs at TVS’ test track at Hosur and here’s what we found out. In terms of features, both motorcycles come equipped with a new all-LED headlamp and the Glide Through Traffic (GTT) feature. Apart from this, the only additional feature that the RTR 200 4V has received over the 160 4V is Bluetooth compatibility. Both motorcycles have received minor cosmetic updates as well in the form of new decals and a dual-tone seat cover (available only on the RTR 160 4V). The BS6 Apache RTR 160 4V is powered by the same 159.7cc engine as before. However, this motor now churns out 16.02PS and 14.12Nm, which is 0.77PS and 0.68Nm less than the BS4-compliant version. The BS6-compliant Apache RTR 200 4V’s power output remains the same at 20.5PS, however, the peak torque has gone down from 18.1Nm to 16.8Nm. Transmission duties are handled by a five-speed gearbox in both motorcycles. Except for this, both motorcycles share the same cycle parts as their BS4 variant.

    Dec 03, 2019  |  Posted in: TVS Videos |106 Views |Write Comment

TVS has a history of showcasing some interesting new concepts at Auto Expo. But, at the 2018 Auto Expo, it really managed to outdo itself by unveiling the TVS Zeppelin concept bike. The Zeppelin was the first cruiser to be showcased by TVS as most of its motorcycles have a sporty connect especially the TVS Apache series. The styling of the TVS Zeppelin is based on a power cruiser and the Ducati X-DIavel influence can be clearly seen. LIke a proper cruiser, the Zeppelin also featured a belt drive system, another first for any TVS bike. Powering the TVS cruiser bike is a 220cc, single-cylinder engine which is based on the TVS Apache RTR 200 4V. It also featured an interesting E-Boost system that delivered extra boost of torque from an electric starter motor.

    Jul 12, 2019  |  Posted in: TVS Videos |219 Views |Write Comment

TVS has launched the Apache RTR 200 Fi E100 in India at Rs 1.20 lakh (ex-showroom, India). This makes it Rs 8,655 dearer than its petrol-powered, carburetted counterpart. It is also the first motorcycle in the country to be powered by 100 per cent ethanol. For now, the motorcycle will be available only in Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh and Karnataka. In terms of design, the motorcycle doesn’t look as different from its petrol-powered counterpart, with the exception of a new white and green colour scheme along with the ‘Ethanol’ logo. Powering it is the same 197.75cc single-cylinder air- and oil-cooled engine, but it gets twin-spray twin-port electronic fuel-injection technology. TVS claims this delivers better driveability and faster throttle response while reducing the emissions. The Apache RTR 200 Fi E100 is capable of running on a combination of 80 per cent ethanol and 20 per cent petrol if need be too.

    Jun 03, 2019  |  Posted in: TVS Videos |418 Views |Write Comment

For 2019, TVS has smoothened out the rough edges of the Apache RR310. With a revised ECU, the 33bhp 313cc engine now runs smoother than before, while a slipper clutch adds race to the RR. There’s also the customary new paint scheme to set it apart from the previous model. It all sounds very lucrative, especially when you consider that it’s just Rs 3,000 more expensive. But is it too little too late? Varun heads out to the MMRT race track to find out.
