Street Twin Expert Review

Here is what our experts feel about Street Twin

The upcoming Street Twin from Triumph carries forward the old-school design and gels it wonderfully with the new-age technology. It has round headlamp and a near flat one-piece seat. The drive chain is partially exposed and the parallel-twin cylinders get their personal exhaust plumbing; one on each side. There's a pair of 41mm telescopic suspensions with fork covers on the front wheel and a pair of spring-loaded suspensions with preload adjustment for the rear wheel, both offering up to 120mm of travel. For stopping this contemporary looking motorcycle, there are hydraulic disc brakes; one on each wheel. ABS is a standard part of the safety package. The bike gets ride-by-wire system to improve throttle control and responsiveness. Because of this technology, it was possible to add traction control to maximise wheel grip under all circumstances. The included slip assist clutch will make squeezing the clutch lever a breezy affair. The USB port on the bike can be used to charge cell phones and other USB peripherals. The bike will be powered by a liquid-cooled, 900cc engine dishing out 55 PS of power at 5900 RPM and 80 Nm of torque at a very cruiser-friendly 3230 RPM. The motorcycle measures 2090mm long, 785mm wide and 1114mm high with a wheelbase of 1489mm. Triumph claims 27 km/l of fuel efficiency with this bike, and the tank capacity stands at 12 litres.
