Rocket III Expert Review

Here is what our experts feel about Rocket III

Triumph Rocket III is a unique motorcycle in the global markets and one that is now officially available on sale in India. It has the biggest production motorcycle engine seen in any motorcycle and also one of the most powerful of them all. It is a motorcycle that commands respect in every way from the moment you land your eyes on it. It features the best of Triumph technology and a reputation for being one of the brutal power cruisers in the world. Its impressive power delivery from its high performance engine puts it on top of the list of the best bikes in the world.
It brings a 2.3 litre (2,294cc) DOHC, liquid cooled, In-line 3 cylinder engine that makes 146 Bhp of power but puts out a massive 221 Nm of torque at a low 2750 rpm. It has so much power right in the bottom end that as you twist the wrist the world turns in a constant blur. The engine is mated to a 6 speed gearbox which shifts smoothly and helps you put the power to the wheels via a shaft final drive effectively. The engine is known for its deafening roar and has a character unlike no other motorcycle. It is one of the best creations from the British motorcycle marquee.
Despite its size the chassis remains one of the sweet handling ones we’ve seen on big bad crusiers as this one. The rigid frame keeps the weight together and ensures the handling dynamics remain confidence inspiring. The sophisticated suspension gives the rider ample feedback when going through corners and ensures availability of traction at all times. Changing direction isn’t very difficult as the motorcycle with all its might remains one of the best handling power cruisers in the market. It is agile, fun to ride and provides an all-encompassing riding experience.
The riding position provides an upright ride which is comfortable and allows one to fully control the machine. India gets the Roadster version and despite its length and size it remains reasonably narrow in the middle which allows one to put the legs down on the road easily to balance it. It is Triumph’s flagship motorcycle and comes with an immobilizer as standard equipment. The instrument console has all the basic functions but looks of great quality and has good features. The analogue tachometer and speedometer is one of the nicest we’ve seen in a long time.
The build quality on the Rocket III is fantastic. The switches are of premium quality as it should be on a motorcycle of its caliber. The 3-1-2 exhaust looks great and sound phenomenal. Triumph has a several accessories and optional equipment available for customization of your motorcycle. Riding this motorcycle is indeed a unique experience. It is an opportunity that cannot be missed in this life time. Triumph is selling the Rocket III Roadster at an ex-showroom New Delhi price of Rs. 20.00 Lakhs. At this price you may get the V-Max and a bunch of other options from American motorcycle makers but the Rocket III is still remains a very special motorcycle come what may.
