Kawasaki Ninja 1000 is one of best liter class sport tourers available in the market today in India. It is one of the rare gems in the Indian motorcycling scenario. As a versatile motorcycle that is comfortable to ride over long distances, it has loads of power on tap to keep you interested to ride it day-in and day-out. It is beautifully styled with its floating windscreen, a sharp design and twin headlamps. The tank is wide but curves sharply towards the inside. The seats are comfortable, the tank is wide and the fabulous quad exhausts take the styling to the next level.
Internationally the Ninja 1000 has been one of the best bikes in its class. Now Kawasaki has improved it further for 2014. The updated styling along with traction control, excellent brakes and more power from its engine along with hard panniers as option for tourers it has certainly upped the ante. As far as engine performance the engine is the same as the Z1000 and brings a 1043cc, DOHC, inline-4 cylinder engine that makes 142 PS of power and 110 Nm of torque. The engine is mated to a 6 speed gearbox but the 6th ratio has been revised to reduce engine revs at highway speeds for a smoother ride and efficiency.
Ninja 1000 has a wider appeal owing to its almost supersport performance but greater comfort and touring capabilities. The KTRC system restricts rear wheel spin and has three modes for delivering maximum performance and increase rider confidence. The narrower frame and better mass centralization also helps shorter ride easily balance their motorcycle. The seats are comfortable for both the rider and pillion respectively. The windscreen height can be adjusted manually upto 20 degrees which keeps the wind out ensuring a comfortable and safe ride.
The new version offers excellent rideability with its improved engine performance. It has loads of torque across the rev range and the bottom end torque always you to easily take off from a standing start especially when the bike is loaded with luggage. The sound of the I-4 engine is truly intoxicating and the Ninja 1000 has a nice growl when revved high even in stock form. The engine has been tweaked to improve mid-range performance yet the engine remains extremely reliable and has ample power to gun this motorcycle in and out of corners.
The suspension works extremely well along with the rigid frame. The front and rear suspension are adjustable while the frame has excellent torsional rigidity allowing a composed and safe ride every single time. India gets the ABS version as standard and this is fantastic. New and experienced riders will be able to take good advantage of this system and enjoy their rides. Kawasaki launched the Ninja 1000 in India at the end of 2013 at an exciting price of 12.5 lakhs ex-showroom Delhi. The price given all the features is truly mouth watering. This alone makes the Ninja 1000 one of the best motorcycles in the CBU market that money can buy today.
